Grin Lens Fiber Collimator 1550nm 2M Single Fiber SMF 3.2mm OD, 5mm WD working distance golden tube packaged Pigtail type

F-tone offers a complete line of fiber collimators and focusers with lowbackreflection, designed to collimate or focus light exiting a fiber to adesired beam diameter or spot size. By utilizing diffraction limited lenses, spot sizes of a few microns can be achieved. These devices can be usedwith laser diodes, photodiodes, acousto-optic modulators and other fiberoptic devices.

Collimators and focusers can be used as matched pairs tocouple light in and out of optical devices. This makes them ideal for fiberpackaging of devices. For collimators, the collimated beam diameter (BD)and full divergenceangle (DA)depends upon the focal length of the lens (f), the core diameter(a), and the fiber numerical aperture (NA).The collimated beamcharacteristics are given by:BD(mm) = 2 x f(mm) x NADA(mrad) = a(ȝm) / f(mm)When using the above formulae, please exercise caution.

Differentdefinitions for the numerical aperture are used by fiber manufacturers. Forinstance, definitions based on 50 percent, 13.5 percent (1/e2), 5 percent, and 1 percent intensity levels are all used. FM standard tables list the definitions used for each fiber type, aswell as conversion factors to convert values to 1/e2 values. F-tone uses1/e2 definitions for its calculations of the beam diameter wherever possible.
