Transform your existing spare fiber into a continuous, real-time early warning system. F-tone’s solution detects leaks, geohazards, and third-party intrusion—delivering actionable intelligence to prevent incidents before they escalate.
Congratulations to Professor Huijuan Wu of F-tone Networks, who is also an Associate Professor at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC). She has been selected to the Stanford University World’s Top 2% Scientists List for four consecutive years from 2022 to 2025. Specializing in DAS, DTS, DVS and DSS distributed fiber optic sensing systems, Professor Wu leads our core R&D team with world-class academic achievements in fiber sensing technology accumulated from long-term research at UESTC’s Key Laboratory of Fiber Optic Sensing and Communication. Every DAS interrogator we supply is backed by our independent, cutting-edge self-developed algorithms and hardware, delivering ultra-stable, high-precision long-distance monitoring performance for global industrial clients.
F-tone converts standard optical fiber—typically the spare fiber in the communication cable installed alongside the pipeline—into a continuous, real-time distributed sensing system with minimal incremental cost.
Using Raman-based DTS for leak/temperature detection and Rayleigh φ-OTDR-based DAS for third-party intrusion and ground movement monitoring, our system provides early warning of potential threats, giving operators the critical time needed to intervene before incidents escalate.

F‑tone Distributed High‑Performance Sensing System (DTS)
Based on project requirements, utilizing either Brillouin or Raman scattering principles, the DTS system performs real‑time detection and localization of subtle temperature and/or strain variations along the entire pipeline.
The F‑tone DITEST (Distributed Temperature and Strain Sensing) Demodulator employs single‑mode fiber as the sensing medium, leveraging Brillouin scattering technology to simultaneously measure both strain and temperature. Consequently, the DITEST is capable of pipeline leak detection (via temperature monitoring) while remaining highly sensitive to geohazards such as ground movement.
The F‑tone DTS Demodulator utilizes multimode fiber for dedicated temperature monitoring. It serves as an ideal solution for multi‑pipeline configurations, particularly for short‑distance applications.

Why F-tone?
Continuous Coverage: No blind spots. Monitor every meter of your pipeline 24/7.
Passive Sensors: Dielectric fiber optics are intrinsically safe for hazardous environments (ATEX/IECEx zones).
Lower OPEX: Utilizes existing communication cables, requiring no additional trenching or power supplies along the right-of-way.
High Accuracy: Advanced algorithms distinguish between genuine threats and environmental noise.
