Plastic Optical Fiber (POF) (or fibre) is an optical fiber which is made out of plastic. In large-diameter fibers, 96% of the cross section is the core that allows the transmission of light. It is commonly used for much high-fast data transmission, FTTH, intelligent network of home and office, automobile, intelligence, industry control and monitor system, military communication, etc.

Traditionally PMMA is the core(960μm)material, and fluorinated polymer are the cladding (1000μm)material, and the double jackets is 6.0mm.
