DIY Expandable Distributed Optical Fiber Sensing Optical Path Module

Product Overview:

This module incorporates a narrow linewidth laser (<3k), a 1×2 optical splitter, an acousto-optic modulator, an EDFA (erbium-doped fiber amplifier), a VOA (variance optical attenuator), a circulator, a 2×2 optical coupler, and a BPD (balanced photodetector). However, all the connectors are located externally. Users can connect and combine the optical paths according to their own optical circuit requirements.

Application
  • Optical cable monitoring equipment
  • φ-OTDR system
  • DVS distributed vibration monitoring
  • Optical cable locator, portable device
Suitable for users
  • 1. Research customers for distributed optical fiber sensing, who need a mature DAS for testing and use in the early stage, and expect to upgrade the optical path in the later stage.
  • 2. Manufacturers who hope to make some optical path innovations for their distributed optical fiber sensing systems, such as creating direct detection optical paths, coherent detection optical paths, DAS or BOTDA directions.
Characteristics
  • At the advanced level, it retains openness (integrating lasers, AOM, BPD, EDFA, and necessary optical components)
  • The interface of the optical component module is left outside the module, facilitating expansion and component reuse.
  • It is a very mature and stable DAS optical module itself.
  • Integrated in one module, it is convenient to carry and easy to integrate into the chassis.
