Introduction


Furcation Tube is used to build up bare optical fibers to protect them and to allow them to be terminated with connectors. Furcation is available in all 12 industry standard colors as well as a variety of sizes. The 0.9mm, 2mm, 3mm, 3.8mm, and 5.0mm furcation tubing consists of an inner tube surrounded by aramid yarn and an overall PVC/LSZH/Armored jacket. Inner tubes are available in specific sizes to accept either bare or buffered fibers. The 900 micron furcation tubing is a single tube designed specifically for the protection and termination of 250μm bare fiber. This tubing accepts either bare or tight buffer and provides durable protection when breaking out cables. A newly engineered inner tube protects against crushing or kinking. It is designed for all connector types and is available with pull string for 2 and 3 mm furcation tubing.

F-tone supply a wide variety of Hytrel® furcation tubing with a 900 µm outer diameter. They are used as a jacket for single mode fiber because the inner diameter may be too small for many multimode fibers. Our FT900KY, FT900KB, and FT900KK tubing include Kevlar threads to be used as a pull string when feeding optical fiber. The interior of the FT900Y tubing is empty.

F-tone also offers the Strain Relief Boots for covering connector ends when using Ø900 µm furcation tubing.
