F-tone Networks manufactures a drop-in compatible cage assembly for the TE Connectivity 2227728-1 zSFP+ interconnect. It is built to the same mechanical envelope and press-fit footprint as the original part, giving 25G/32G SFP28 and Fibre Channel 32G line cards a cost-effective, dual-source alternative without re-spinning the PCB.

The unit is a ganged 1×2 cage with through-hole press-fit, right-angle termination (tail length 2.05 mm / 0.081 in), mounted on a nickel-silver alloy shell. Internal and external EMI spring fingers provide board-level shielding compliance for 32 Gb/s NRZ signaling, while the ganged structure supports belly-to-belly stacking for front-panel density. The cage is signal compatible with SFP/SFP+ MSA transceivers and shares the zSFP+ mating interface defined by SFF-8402.
